The Real Santa Cruz Lumber Co. - con'd
Cars of logs were unloaded "automatically" and the logs dumped into the pond. A log mounted at an angle was high enough to clear the flat cars, but not the loaded logs. As the cars were shoved under the angled log, the load was forced to the side and into the mill pond.
No. 2 dumps a load of logs into the
mill pond.
The lettering in the photos below is reputed to be paper cutouts
applied by the photographer.
