Three Foot Logging Disconnects

This set of Three Foot Disconnects is another one of Hartford Products outstanding 1:20.3 kits.

The disconnects are coupled via a ''rooster'' (not shown) to form a single car. On the prototype, this was sometimes done, and sometimes not. Sometimes a chain was used to fasten the disconnects together. When not physically coupled, the logs themselves formed the ''body'' of the car.

As I said previously, to me, nothing looks more like a wooden car than a wooden car!

The Disconnects feature full brake rigging and shoes. Ratchets were used rather than brake wheels so as not to interfere with the log loads. Other variations had the brake wheels mounted sideways to one side of, and parallel to, the truck wheels.

The underside clevises and brake rods are fully modeled!
